Interim Goals

Lady in Red named "All On The Red Again"

EEEEEhhaaa, a Texas Boat

The weather window looks marginal for our intended sail to Key West tomorrow, but not in a wooley way. The winds are supposed to be SSE offshore and around 10 knots. Wrong direction and way too little wind but as those who have been sailing for some time know, NOAA gets it wrong as much as right. We guess that is why it is still called "predictions". The plan, as endorsed by several locals, is to leave around 1700 tomorrow and do the overnighter. Sea buoy to sea buoy is 80 nautical miles. At five knots, with or without the engine, that makes for an early morning arrival.

We have enjoyed the cruise after getting into Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, especially Florida. The marinas are more expensive but way more complete. Some, like this one, have pools, hot tubs and nice mariners facilities. Some are eager for the business unlike some in our old cruising grounds. I am told that may change as we approach the more densely populated areas.

We were wondering about how the Bluebonnets are doing in Texas just a few days ago. Today, the crew of SV CJ sent some great photos of them from the New Braunfels area. Wow, what a bumper crop this year. That raised the level of missing Texas in our hearts a bit. There is s song by Chris Ladeux called Bluebonnet Blues (sorry for not underlining the song title but the blog editor does not have it). It fits. We haven't left her for good.

After these few months aboard, we continue to shuffle stuff into better places. While repairing the main facility we had to use the mid ship head. That was full of stores and we had them scattered all over the boat for almost two days. It is nice to have our 200 square feet back now that the stuff is back in that space.
